Assalaam `alaikum (peace be upon you)

At the time of meeting a Muslim should greet some one with the words:  (Assalaam `alaikum) in Arabic language . ‘Peace be upon you (all)’  at English , The addressees should subsequently respond with the words:  (Wa `alaikum Assalaam). In Arabic way but in English ‘and upon you too may be peace’ These words are, in fact, a supplication for the addressee for peace and blessings during the life of this world as well as the hereafter.
